How do I know the USB port of pc
is normal?
|
|
USB
interface is a new product, so there are some OS such as Windows 3.1/95 or
pc do not support it. To make sure your USB port is in normal situation,
please check by following steps:
1.
Downloading test program USBReady.exe 301 on http://www.usb.org/shopping
bag.html
2. Execute USBReady.exe, then you will see the
following window.
3. Click “Yes”, then the “USB compatibility test result” will come out.
This screen shows your system has FULL support for USB. If it says “NO”,
that means your system DOES NOT have full support for USB.
4. Click “Detail” to know the test result in detail. This message shows
your system fully support USB. The message on the below indicates your
system does not support USB.

I have completed installation of
software and hardware of scanner but still do not work?

Step
1:
To make sure if “Device manager” detect “USB Controllers”. Click the right
button on “My computer” then select “Properties”. Click “Device manager”
from the panel. If “USB Controllers” is under “Device manager”, go to Step 2, otherwise directly go to Step 3 to keep check.
Step
2:
To check if “Image Device” is under “USB Controllers”. The existence of
“USB Flatbed Scanner” under “Image Device” proves the scanner work
normally. If your PC does not catch “Image Device”
and “USB Flatbed Scanner”, pull out USB cable of scanner from USB port.
Plug again or try to plug into another USB port. In the normal condition,
pc will catch a new hardware (USB scanner) and ask you to install driver.
After installation, please check “Image Device” and “USB Flatbed Scanner”
again. In case of failure, the scanner might cause the problem, please
contact your vender.
Step
3:
a. Turn on the power.
b. Get into “BIOS Setup” to make sure the USB controller setup is on. (See
the manual attached with the main board.) Saving the settled parameter then
exit BIOS.
c. Go to Windows 98, when “USB Controller” appears, please conduct Step 2.
If the “USB Controller” does not appear all the time, please contact your
main board vender.

t is due to the USB consumes too much power. USB port only provides
electricity of 500mA. When scanner and USB keyboard are used in series
connection, it will exceed 500mA. We suggest you to connect 1236USB
separately to an USB port on the main board or USB Hub.

Win NT 4.0
does not support USB device, so the USB scanner cannot work in this
environment.

There are 2 ways to scan: one is “Stand alone”, which is an
executive program and only provides TIF and BMP forms. The other is
application program of “TWAIN” and “Photo Suite”, which supports various
image formats, such as JPG, GIF, TIF and BMP.

Most PC
suppliers have replaced printed manual with electronic files. Please find
the attached CD for manual.

Why does my
flatbed scanner makes a knocking sound and fails to work after power
turning on?
|
|
This is caused by users who forget to unlock the scanner or failed
to unlock the scanner properly. If you don't unlock it,
that will prevent the optical module from moving and thus resulting
in the noise you hear. Please refer to the scanner's user manual to unlock
the scanner.
